Current mood: hungry

It has been a long long time...
Since I last posted.  Just haven't felt in the mood I guess.  Which is funny because I hate it when other people leave their journals hanging.

So much has happened.

I work at Subway now, I have applied for Ohio State University, We have two new cats (Monty and Urgo), I have recently turned 21, My main character in Legacies was sundered...

Lemme start with the cats.

Urgo is not his full name.  His full name was The Lost Prince of Kennewick, or Wicked.  My mother was on one of her many photographic expeditions, this time in Kennewick, and as she got out of the car, a teeny tiny little grey and white kitten bounded out of the bushes and cried at her.  Barely 6 weeks old, no buildings or safe places anywhere within sight, and there were hawks in the air.  There was never really any question of whether or not she'd bring him home...

So I cared much for the kitten, kept him in my room mostly, as it was the most secure.  We were very concerned that the other cats would try to eat him or something.  And indeed, for a while there it was pretty tricky.  Magic especially was being very friendly and would then attempt to pick him up by his scruff and run away with him.  It was odd...

But Urgo is now too large for magic to carry off and something very odd has happened.  It seemes that Urgo has united the cats of the household in a way that they have never been before.  Suddenly. rather than fighting, they are being forced to play with a large rambunctious young cat  (still adorable but less sickeningly so).  And now they have even started playing with each other!  Its truly amazing.

Monty is about 3 times Urgo's age, though still fairly young, and quite a bit smaller than he.  She is one of the Kittens from Anna who was destined to be mine.  Finally I was able to convince my mother to brign her across the state and back here.  We knew there'd be a few days of transition, perhaps as long as a week where she'd be in hiding.  But she was quite displeased by the whole nonsense.  She vanished into my closet, and I didn't see her for days on end....only suffering the occasional and rare toe0licking attacks in the night.  And after I came home one legacioes weekend, it was clear that the under-the-door barricade had been holed and she was as good as gone.

Anna came for a visit a bit later, and on the day she was to arrive, I actually spotted monty a couple times.  She had been spending the last couple weeks under the house.  And now she occasionally crept out for food or to watch us humans.  Anna was able to lure her out, as a familiar face I guess.  And over the next few days, we actually got to pet monty a couple times, if she was in the mood (although standing up would send her tearing off back under the house.) and more importantly, we were certain she was eating.

Anna went home eventually, but over the next few weeks, Monty has become basically her old self.  She will come inside to watch us.  Sometimes get friends and allow herself to be petted and even sometimes jump on a lap.  And she eats quite well.  But she is still nervouse of us.  Especially my parents whom she didn't know periodically from her time as a kitten.  Now heres th funny part.

Urgo and his breaking the ice with the other cats, mean the they have been perfectly friendly to Monty!  Urgo plays with her, Ninja and Magic more than tolerate her presence, and are friendly and unabbrasive to her.  Violetta is a nasty old maid, as always, but nowhere near as bad as she used to be to Ninja and Magic.  All 5 cats get along very very well together.  Its one thing I did not expect but am very pleased about.

Anyway, I must be getting to work soon.  I'll make that the subject of my next post.  And I'm hungry.  And I have about 9 minutes to grab food.
