04:04 pm - Games!
I am off to legacies~! But in the mean time, if someone wishes to play in the Lord of the Rings Online Open Beta, I'm on the server called Silverlode, currently residing in the town of Bree. My character is a human Captain named Daranion.
I don't think my mother will necessarily enjoy playing this game initially, but it is the same format as WoW so my sister should be able to help her figure it out. After a few levels and one has completed the initial quests, you'll be allowed to leave Archet and explore on your own.

08:48 am - Subway employees everywhere take a turn for the UGLY
It has been a long long time since I updated, I'm going to start doing so again.
So much new and different stuff it is hard to say all that has happened in the first few months of 2007, so I'll just go with whats going on lately. At Subway we got these new T-shirts we have to wear. On one hand, way more comfortable than poloshirts...lighter too. On the other...they are canary yellow and hideous. They do not go well with the complexions of 80% of the employees. They are most awful.
Tragically, I am now going to work.
Also, Karate is almost over. I have been waiting a long time and paid a lot of money to that place, and I regret doing it. But I'll be glad to get out of it. Around the same time, the end of march, my mom is going to Singapore for a month. You all know what this means.

03:00 pm - Christmas Update
So much to talk about....so few updates
Well, I'll find out what needs catching up later. In the mean time, something important!
Charlie's Christmas Wishlist
Internal Hard Drive for my Computer (details later)
New Backpack and Duffel bag (Nothing with wheels or rubber pegs on the bottom....god help you if I find wheel or stands *glare*)
Clothing: Sad to say, I can actually use some new pants and many of my massive collection of old socks are deveolping holes and must be thrown out.
DVDs are good, I'll get a morecomprehensive list of stuff that I don't yet have later.
Games: Video games I almost never play, but board/card games are very good. Again, more comprehensive list later.
Gift Certificates for clothes, movies, joannes, borders, craft shops, or other neat things are all helpful, as well as straight up cash which I'll never complain about.
Books: The George R. R. Martin Series, Empire from the ashes (David Weber), and In Death Ground and The Shiva Option. Both of those sets would be fantastic to ahve my own copies of. Fantasy, mythology, and ancient world reference books or guides are also very neat.
More later, I must away!

11:31 pm - Game System
I am currently working on a tabletop game system. I would like to run some ideas past various people to see if they aren't too complicated or confusing. If anyone is interested in helping me out, pls let me know.
Wisemen and Fools are both useful.

07:03 am - HALLOWEEN!!!
Alright. I love halloween. The candy is nice, but you can get candy at any time of the year. There is candy at any holiday. Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day....its always about the candy.
But Halloween is my favorite holiday. It is the only day of the year I can go out in public wearing a mask and not be a freak. The masks, the costumes, the scaring, the trick or treaters...I love it all! Last year I set up an AWESOME halloween party at my house, and not one person came. Mostly it was just bad timing...no one far away had the time and no one nearby had the motivation. I never get any trick or treaters living in my backwater dark little corner.
Not one of my friends around here cares about Halloween. They are doing homework, playing videogames, and whetever else. I feel so alone in my appreciation for Halloween. I cannot wait for some point in the future when I will be able to actually throw a decent party, or have trick or treaters or do things the way they should be done on halloween. IN the mean time...I have nothing to do. It would be fun even to cruise around and look for a party to crash...any yet....alone, is not so much fun. What to do.

01:44 am - Events
Legacies was very fun. My new character was entertaining, and I will be pleased to play him in the future more than just friday night. No one killed him yet, so he is definitely making progress.
My other character's sister was undergoing surgery. She is a Mute, and a surgeon was operating on her throat to let her be able to speak again. They way they role-played this was with a construction over the throat of the player, with a plaster cast base, and then various layers of more plaster, latex, red goo and gelatin, with a hand pump that would make the whole thing gush red fluid when the surgeon cut in. It was extremely disturbing...like watching an episode of ER or something. Now, mentally I know it was all fake, but it looked so real that I had an extreme physical reaction. I barely managed to keep from fainting or throwing up. It was a bit embarassing, but kind of neat because I have never had that happen before for anything. So now I know what its like to faint.
And last bit of news, I asked someone out. We agreed to go out on a date, but I am waiting to contact her to set the day and time. She lives rather far away, but I don't think that matters. It'll just make for some interesting coordination. I have been thinking about it for a long time and finally worked up the nerve to ask her. My philosophy on this is that I shouldn't be nervous because if I say or do something that totally turns her away from me (or vice versa) then we would be foolish to continue the relationship further anyway. Right now, I am unsure what kind of relationship she wants if any. As for what I want, well, thats between me and her.

12:24 pm - Martial Arts and Social Activities
SO the Karate is very fun. It is a way for me to get a good workout twice a week, as well as develop some better self defense skills. Some classes are easy, others knock me out for several days after by killing my leg and back muscles. I go to work and cry every time someone wants the Honey Oat bread (At the bottom of the pantry). But still...I am unsatisfied with this Karate School. They seem more concerned about the money than about the martial arts. Someone described it as a Blackbelt Factory. And basically, anyone who pays them the proper huge amount of money and is even slightly motivated to try, can get a blackbelt in 3 years. I am way too much of a romantic about this. I Don't want to be tought based only on what I can afford...I want to be considered for my potential, my dedication, and what I can achieve. If this place were a resturaunt, it'd be Dennies.
So I keep imagining making up my own homegrown martial art. Keeping working at this one, learning Aikido, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, getting several blackbelts and working on my own style that I could one day teach. Its probably just fantasy but its a fun one.
Speaking of fantasy, Legacies this weekend! The costume is pretty much complete, only a few details remain. THe few who have seen the pictures of it approve, and I think he'll make a good impression there. After game I promise I'll put pictures up so everyone can see the awesomeness. I only wish I could claim the costume fully as my own creation. But I had a very good seamstress make the main part of it, so I can't.
I am reading A Feast For Crows. I am so happy. I have waited so long. A Dance of Dragons had better come out SOON.

04:48 pm - New Things
So as always, I am engaged in several projects. A new legacies character, the 3rd or 4th i have come up with to play between these last events since I retired my Primary character. But this one I think I am sticking with. It requires to completely seperate layers of costume. The first I am ordering out for. For 50 dollars I get one large piece that will cover the inside parts completely. Its a very good deal, and I'm glad to know someone who enjoys making things and doesn't charge as she says, "What she should" which I agree with. That she should be charging extra. But I am on a tight budget and I am happy to partake.
The inner part of the costume, that few if any will see, is far more complex and I am putting it together myself. Similar to my old Golem Suit, its mostly made of the same materials I'd use for making a boffer weapon. I put most of my bribe into this character to make him the perfect level. Every day brings new pieces of the project. I've finished the over mask...there is a cloth hood that'll go under it which might need some enhancements as well. The whole piece needs a torso, so I ahve the lower back finished. I still need to make the upper back. The front torso is cut out and held together but needs a full covering of tape. I have a glove for my right hand, but need to make a special claw boffer for my left. I also need forearm covers. I am considering upper arm and leg covering as well..its just a makker of how much time and materials it takes.
I realize I am being very vague on the subject, but I promise once its done and has been revealed at legacies, I'll post lictures of the costume in its various stages.
And all this makes me really wonder if there are any good halloween costume contests around here.
Also, I am trying to put together an RPG system that is unique enough to be publishable. I am very pleased with the results so far, and I wish, oh how I wish, I had a reliable group to test it out with. My friends locally are really intelligent and could help a lot, but are also busy often, and are not as interested in it as I am.
Meanwhile, the situation with my friend has calmed down somewhat. He decided, at the request of his father to not go through with cutting us off. He reveresed the process of forgetting as well as he could, and now has his memories back, but still has lost the emotional connections.
Now, before you start saying, "Well, how suspiciously convenient." Keep in mind, whether he is telling the truth or not matters little. The fact that he wanted to do it speaks of some problem he has, some pain that is depressing him. And he claims that the procedure exists in the face of all logic and science, so...in a way its like if he'd said he'd scene the loch ness monster, or been abducted by aliens. I may or may not believe in those things, but I believe him because I am his friend. Whether its just humoring him, or if it is true belief, its his belief that is important here, and our taking him seriously.
Bonfire tonight. I'm not sure I want to bother, but hopefully some friends will come over and join us. That'd be nice. And its my mother's birthday today, so I'd better get to it.
One last note, I've started taking karate lessons! Ow!

01:10 pm - "Isolation Protocols Initiated"
What. The. Fuck.
Alright, where to begin? So There is this person I know, named Perry. You may recall a couple of post previously that I was very angry about someone I was talking to. Well I now know the reason why he was being difficult, and why at the end he was claiming to not know who I am.
He says he has erased his memory, of every social interaction, since 5th grade. He literally does not know who I or any of our mutual friends are. At all. (For the duration of this post I'm going to assume he is being truthful abut this.) And he is following instructions left by himself to eliminate all contact with anyone he knew. He still remembers himself over the years, and his family interractions. And a lot of everything. But all of us....Collateral Damage.
He doesn't know why he did it, and he is threatening that if we try to contact him after a certain date that we will greatly regret it. Regret it as much as losing a friend? He thinks so. I don't know what to do or think besides give him the space he wants and respect his wishes. Whether he is lieing or not doesn't matter, his goal remains the same.
I don't know what to think.

01:07 am - Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day!!!
Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day
Yarr! Hear be some suggestions fer all yeh scallywags out there who wish ta celebrate this auspicious occasion. As not all yeh pirate-wannabes are parrrticularly experienced in th Ways of the Pirate. Arrr....I need practice...
Anyway! Here they be!
Feirst, and in General: Add Yarr like you'd normally use Umm or Hmm. Say Aye instea of Yes, Avast instead of Hey, and say matey a lot. Refer to "she" without anyone knowing what you are referring to. Be instead of Are. Land Lubbers, Scallywags, Buccaneers, Lily-Livered, Yellow Bellied, Scurvy Dogs, all be good piratey terms to refer ta folks. Try ta use shorter words except where ya can use exceptionally long ones. And when ya do use one o' them big words, yeh ought ta look proud a yerself.
Also: Try driving yer friends around in yer car. Occasionally command them to do things like, "Fasten the 4th line! Raise the Port Sails! Tie off that Ancher line ya misbegot sons o' dogs!" And then, when the roads be clear, let yer car roll to a smooth stop and say, "The winds be a cursin us lads...let us pray that she'll kiss are sails again a'fore the hold runs dry...less we be forced to turn on one another....like starvin rats..." Then in ten minutes, start her up again and make'em give a cheer!
Now the destination also be important. So wherever ye be aheaded, make sure ye have a heading. Give yer first mate a compass and demand to know what direction the winds are blowin ye at every traffic light. When referrin ta yer first mate, always use his last name and refer to him as Mr.... Even if he be a girl. Ladies are bad luck aboard a sea vessel, any pirate worth his salt knows that.
After a long day of sailin the great paved oceans, ye'll need some booty. Gold is best, but ifn' ya go to a Dennies, tehy'll probably tolerate yer behavior more than most places...see if yeh can get away with gamblin'. If they don't let ya play cards, bring out the dice. If'n they don't let ya do that, well...make wagers on how long the food takes to arrive. Curdle me blood I almost fergot! At the very beginnin of the day, ye must go to yon bank an replace all your land lubber paper bills with gold dollar coins.
Chances are they'll kick ye out, but at least ye can order some food a'for ye get too belligerent. Or if yer lucky enough ta finish a meal, make sure there be leftovers. This be yer Booty. This next part be very important. Ye have to find an isolated island and bury yer booty where no one'll ever think ta look. Don't forget to make yer mates bring shovels afore they get inta yer car. Now make a map leading ta where yer booty be hidden. Defend it with vigor.
All this a'course doesn't touch on the clothes, which are very important. Vests, sashes, baggy pantaloons and baggy sleaves, bandanas, tricorner hats and tall boots with big cuffs. Peg legs, hook hands and eyepatches are all optional. Stuffed parrots are a hat-tip ta the days of old, but if ya really want ta show the lads yer passion, get yerself a real parrot what talks. Or a monkey with pants. Only the captain should wear a long coat and carry the extendable eyepiece. And he best use it at every intersection. If'n ye see another car o pirates, or a rich fat merchant vessel full a' loot...well their aint much ya can do about it without angerin the local authorities, but there aint no laws agaisnt baleful glares and gnashing of teeth!
Lastly, there be the Pirate Code. The solemn honorific set down by the great pirates of the olden days that every man who calls himself a pirate must adhere to. Here be the Articals:
Article the First: That all men are to obey the captains authority, and that the captain is to have two full shares of the prize. His Second Mate and Quartermaster to have one full share and a half. The boatswain, gunner, and master each to have one share and a quarter.
Article the Second: Every man has a vote in affairs of moment; has equal title to the fresh provisions, or strong liquors, at any time seized, and may use them at pleasure, unless a scarcity makes it necessary, for the good of all, to vote a retrenchment.
Article the Third: Every man to keep their piece, pistols, and cutlass clean and fit for service.
Article the Fourth: No striking one another on board, but every man's quarrels to be ended on shore, at sword and pistol.
Article the Fifth: No man to talk of breaking up their way of living, till each have shared one thousand pounds. If in order to this, any man should lose a limb, or become a cripple in their service, he is to have eight hundred pieces, out of the public stock, and for lesser hurts, proportionately.
Article the Sixth: He that is found Guilty of Cowardice, Desertion, Thievery, Drunkeness in an Engagement, Treachery, Gaming, or Defrauding one another to the value of a Ryal of Plate, shall suffer death or marooning.
Article the Seventh: He that sees a Sail first, shall have the best Pistol or Small Arm aboard of her.
Article the Eighth: No boy or woman to be allowed amongst the crew. If any man is found seducing any of the latter sex, to carry her to sea, disguised, he is to suffer death or marooning. If at any time you meet with a prudent Woman, that Man that offers to meddle with her, without her Consent, shall suffer death or marooning.

12:48 am - Re: Camels and Straws
Seriously. I really don't want to snap. if I snapped I'd say something that would endanger a friendship with someone I have a lot of respect for. But there are times when no one in the world is more infuriating. Unresponsive, unhelpful, and when I get upset...the response is to give me space, give me time to calm down. Sure, thats fine, nice and logical. But to me it feels like I'm being shunned. Like I am being punished.
What I need is not to be shoved aside...or tolerated in all my crazy ravings. I need RESPONSE. I need you to give a shit about what I'm saying. I need to know that you're not just fucking with me. Because when you ignore me, when you treat me like *i'm* crazy...it doesn't help.
This is the third time. After being assured again and again and again that I was NOT being fucked with, it turns out, we have very different ideas about what the exact definition of being fucked with is. Lack of malicious intent does not mean you aren't still lieing to my face, and maintaining random pointless conspiracies. I could threaten to block you off, cut you out of my social life because honestly, I really don't need this. But I wouldn't be able to back that up. Not in a hundred years. I'm far too much of a social animal and most of the time you are a lot of fun to be around.
I don't even know why I'm bothering with this in my journal. You could read this whole thing and then give me a response like, "Is this Rhetorical?"
OH man. You can shove it. Say something like, "Hello? I do not know who you are. I hope I did not ruin your sleep."
There it goes...hear that creaking?
*SNAP*

03:29 pm - New Drum Named
So my friends at legacies got me into drumming. Not like band drumming or anything like that, but the more primitive tribal drum circle drumming.
I got myself a big ol' Djembe with a lion head carved onto it for my character, Kuar. It has a very nice sound and is a lot of fun to play. However, it is rather huge to carry around. This generally doesn't stop me. I have been getting other sound making devices to the end of having things to hand out if I were able to get my own drum circle started sometime. I made a rainstick, hammering nails into a thick cardboard tube filled with pinto beans that works pretty well. I got a set of percussion things that came with a maracca, a bongo, a tambourine, castanettes, a tone block and a cowbell. I have one of those percussion frogs somewhere...
But recently at a garage sale I saw and purchased a new little drum for 10 dollars. I thought at first it was ceramic, as it is the same style as the ceramic drum of one of my friends at legacies who does a lot of drumming. I think its an eastern style, where the skin is stretched over the sides and rounded off with nothing apparent to secure it. Glued down I'd imagine. But I soon realized it was not ceramic, but metal. Very thick for something like this, almost a centimeter. Its not very big, only 8-10 inches high, and about a 6 inch face. The color is black with a peacock rainbow, almost like an oil slick. And the sound is incredible. Almost as loud as my big Djembe. This is a drum that needed a name. I talked to my friend about it. She said that if it wants a name it'll let me know what it is.
I was playing it just now, messing around before heading out of the house for the day, and its name came to me. It shall henceforth be known as Slick.
Alright, now I'm off to work. Payday today, and if all goes well, I'll have a new hard drive for my computer AND be able to recover all the good software from the old broken hd this sunday. When I FINALLY get a day off. I am finally getting 20+ hour weeks. I just wish it wasn't in such small doses. 5 hours here, 3 hours there....so I end up having to work EVERY DAY to get those 20+ hours.

12:12 pm - It has been a long long time...
Since I last posted. Just haven't felt in the mood I guess. Which is funny because I hate it when other people leave their journals hanging.
So much has happened.
I work at Subway now, I have applied for Ohio State University, We have two new cats (Monty and Urgo), I have recently turned 21, My main character in Legacies was sundered...
Lemme start with the cats.
Urgo is not his full name. His full name was The Lost Prince of Kennewick, or Wicked. My mother was on one of her many photographic expeditions, this time in Kennewick, and as she got out of the car, a teeny tiny little grey and white kitten bounded out of the bushes and cried at her. Barely 6 weeks old, no buildings or safe places anywhere within sight, and there were hawks in the air. There was never really any question of whether or not she'd bring him home...
So I cared much for the kitten, kept him in my room mostly, as it was the most secure. We were very concerned that the other cats would try to eat him or something. And indeed, for a while there it was pretty tricky. Magic especially was being very friendly and would then attempt to pick him up by his scruff and run away with him. It was odd...
But Urgo is now too large for magic to carry off and something very odd has happened. It seemes that Urgo has united the cats of the household in a way that they have never been before. Suddenly. rather than fighting, they are being forced to play with a large rambunctious young cat (still adorable but less sickeningly so). And now they have even started playing with each other! Its truly amazing.
Monty is about 3 times Urgo's age, though still fairly young, and quite a bit smaller than he. She is one of the Kittens from Anna who was destined to be mine. Finally I was able to convince my mother to brign her across the state and back here. We knew there'd be a few days of transition, perhaps as long as a week where she'd be in hiding. But she was quite displeased by the whole nonsense. She vanished into my closet, and I didn't see her for days on end....only suffering the occasional and rare toe0licking attacks in the night. And after I came home one legacioes weekend, it was clear that the under-the-door barricade had been holed and she was as good as gone.
Anna came for a visit a bit later, and on the day she was to arrive, I actually spotted monty a couple times. She had been spending the last couple weeks under the house. And now she occasionally crept out for food or to watch us humans. Anna was able to lure her out, as a familiar face I guess. And over the next few days, we actually got to pet monty a couple times, if she was in the mood (although standing up would send her tearing off back under the house.) and more importantly, we were certain she was eating.
Anna went home eventually, but over the next few weeks, Monty has become basically her old self. She will come inside to watch us. Sometimes get friends and allow herself to be petted and even sometimes jump on a lap. And she eats quite well. But she is still nervouse of us. Especially my parents whom she didn't know periodically from her time as a kitten. Now heres th funny part.
Urgo and his breaking the ice with the other cats, mean the they have been perfectly friendly to Monty! Urgo plays with her, Ninja and Magic more than tolerate her presence, and are friendly and unabbrasive to her. Violetta is a nasty old maid, as always, but nowhere near as bad as she used to be to Ninja and Magic. All 5 cats get along very very well together. Its one thing I did not expect but am very pleased about.
Anyway, I must be getting to work soon. I'll make that the subject of my next post. And I'm hungry. And I have about 9 minutes to grab food.

02:30 am - This Sucks
This sucks.
I have to work at 10:30 (thats in 8 hours) and there is no way I can get to sleep. Its so damn hot that sleeping with blankets is literally impossible. Even without blankets I am sweating. The only way its cool enough to sleep is if I have window open, fan blowing in, and no blankets. This means Mosquitoes...again, impossible to sleep with a new batch of bites every 10 minutes. THe best compromise I can come up with, is sleeping with blanktes, fan blasting and window open, to try to block the Mosquitoes. And the only problem, is that the fan is making me sick so I can't breathe and giving me a stuffed up nose...basically making it nerely impossible for sleep. Calling in for work tomorrow is also a really bad idea, since its already going to be swamped with customers, and lacking employees anyway. Oh. And I'm not tired...not in the slightest.
This sucks.

06:03 pm - Some days its hard to want to update.
Work is alright, the Kitten is ever amusing, theres a new batch of Zoe stories on my sister's LJ (
lilmymble ) which is very entertaining.
Legacies was fun. I did a lot of NPCing, and the whole pack was back together for sunday. As an NPC I got to play stupid goblins and annoying redcaps, an asshole body guard, and evil evil mercenary. I also did much planning for my cunning plan, and it is coming together nicely. Except for a certain lack of bribe. I was thinking that I could sell my copy of Windows I got from Playtesting and use that money to make a donation and get bribe.
I also have two other character plans for the future. Sennex, a bloody violent and ruthless but intelligent and fair canid alpha, who'd also be a way to bring a new batch of players in as canids. A new pack to perhaps take over the territory. He'd be fun to play, as sort of an unscrupulous heroic type. He takes care of his own, and unlike Azu, he knows what being a canid is all about.
Then there is the monster. A sort of comic relief mongrel with no actual species that he's based on. just a freak with no morals and no common sense. But fun to play to be sure. All green with fins and fur.
Both of these characters may never be played, as they all need some hefty bribe, not to mention time consuming and expensive costumes to make...but thats okay. Its good to have some backup plans anyway in case I ever get rich.

04:53 am - Games
I have a cunning plan. Its a plan so cunning...if it had a tail you could call it a weasel.
I need allies and friends to bring this plan to fruition however, and I can't discuss much of it here. But it involves Legacies. So unless you are willing to play legacies, you won't be much good. Nevertheless, I have several positions open for my cunning plan. You are free to send an email for a few more details, as I don't want to reveal too much here. Serious Inquiries only please.
(No, I don't expect any actual responses to this, but who knows...just maybe I'll discover a worthy ally)
My tabletop game is going well. We were missing a player this time, but everyone there was pretty focused. The David Arkenstone background music worked very well. I know it helped focus me, and the others seemed to enjoy it. The missing player certainly missed a lot.
There was recently a Legacies Tournament / Feast one day event. It was very fun, except for the fact that I failed at everything. One on one duels, I had to fight Oracle the Archmage twice...and I was so close the second time....I even beat two other people to compete against him for third. Oh well. The Archery I didn't do so hot at. The Packet Duels I at least won 1 of, so I didn't feel too bad about it. The Grand Melee I came out the best of. I was immobilosed near the beginning but retained my armor and health, so when it got down to just two teams remaining I swore to fight for whoever got me back up. One team did, and they won, so afterwards I walked out of the ring willingly, thus as the last man standing, secured second place for my team. FInally there was the Bardic competition, which, after seeing half the entries I may well have won...maybe I could even have signed up till at that point except I had to go and volunteer to be a judge. And then there was the Raffle. 15 dollars wasted horribly. There were so many many prizes...surely I had to win SOMETHING. But no...several people got like...5 different excellent prizes. I am beginning to really dislike raffles.

07:25 pm - Improvement Continues
I haven't updated in a while, but I do check it pretty much every day.
Once again I have the house all to myself. This time for a whole week. It is entertaining, but I'm actually finding it more difficult to motivate myself to do housework now that I actually have a job. Like....because I'm working I feel less lazy and end up being more lazy. Oh well. The good news, is I am eating better, and have lost about 7 lbs so far. No major visible difference that I can tell yet, but I know I'm getting there.
I am thinking I'll be able to lose my gut in a few months if I keep it up, and once thats gone, I can start actually doing some strength training and turning my excess flab on my arms and legs into muscle. I don't want to be Mr. universe or anything, but it would be nice to be able to do a Chin-up once in my life. Who knows, maybe I'll even really enjoy being fit and strong and stay with it.
My friend Brian is coming to visit next month! This is a very good thing. we'llhave him from the 6th to the 11th of august. It is going to be one massive RPG/Boffer War/Video Game/Hanging Outness extravaganza with only minor interruptions to eat, sleep, work and sometimes use the bathroom.
one big long game session, midnight runs every single night....it will be awsome. If only I could get rid of my parents for THAT week...
One last bit of interesting news...I was able to send an email and contact the musical artist David Arkenstone to get his permission to use his music for the Legacies Demo Video I have had on hold for ages. He has some fantastic stuff, almost custom built for background music in RPGs. I think he called it Cinematic New Age music. Its good stuff. And it wil go excellently on the Demo video. I just have to choose the right piece...

10:01 pm - General Update on Matters of Charlie
I am hungry.
One thing about working at subway though, I can make whatever sandwich I want for my lunch break.
Lets see....
The Kitten, now named Urgo, has gotten his first harness on, and he doesn't really like it. But he is learning to tolerate it. Its important to have him restrained if he is going to be a car-cat. It tends to hang on his side and I think its sort of like how teenagers who want to be cool wear their hat sideways. Ninja has been catching baby rabbits, disembowling them all over my moms floor and leaving bits and pieces. It is REALLY unpleasant, and he keeps doing it..there were three last week. So to stop this unfortunate and very mean behavior, we got him a collar with a very sensitive bell. No dead rabbits since.
I went to visit Mt. St. Helens yesterday, as it was a very hot day, and we were hoping that perhaps the higher altitude would reduce the temperature. In retrospect, visiting a Volcano to cool off isn't the best idea. It was still a good trip though. There was an amusing moment that occurred after the video. The movie was all about the original eruption and how volcanos work and stuff. As the audience went outside, St. Helens let off a small puff of ash from the new Cinder Cone, and some little kid pipes up, "Mommy! Mommy! We hafta get out of here!"
What else...
Legacies is going to Camp Thunderbird!! Kickass!!! It has only ever been there once before, and I happened to be there for my second event. It was my last event for a long time, and it was a good site. I am pleased to be going there, as its closer than camp Sheppard, as well as half the price, and part of a completely different BSA council, who will hopefully not be disorganized assholes like the one that controls Sheppard and the other sites we usually go to. Also WAY cheaper than Sheppard which means more money for plot and the game.
I really want to get some boffer fighting going. I think if I could get a couple of people, a few more weapons, start in the park...only I don't want to just go out there and mess around....I do but I want to have it be a little organized. Registered players...kind of like Amtgard, but what Amtgard should have stayed. A stronger focus on reenactment battlegames, rather than sport speedfighting with quasi-roleplay characters and a huge list of ridiculous skills that makes it impossible to just pick up and play. How could I get this started?

05:05 pm - Work is Good
I got hired at Subway and just got back from Day 1. It is a pretty good job. Free sandwiches of course, and some good co-workers. The boss is a nice kind of laid back individual. Of course I spent most of my time doing dishes. Some wiping tables, and even some opportunities to mess up sandwiches. But mostly I did pretty well, got 31 cents in tips.
The schedule seems pretty smooth, so I should be able to get legacies weekends off with no trouble. Thats a definite plus. And the store is the one right here in Tumwater so I can easily walk to work and back. Certainly couldn't do that at Target. All in all, its good to be employed, and there are far worse places. Now I just need to see if I can get transferred when I get into college. Although someone there mentioned that they had been transferred 8 months ago, so it should be okay.
The boss came up with a really horrible pun...I can't remember what it was...it wasn't horrible in a good way though so I think I'll leave it lost in my memory as long as possible. But I expect there to be more.
